Some of the highlights of the show were new products. The Valdani thread company from Australia was ahead of the other companies in that they are now selling overdyed floss and pearl cottons with greater yardages and better price value. Availability and renewing inventory is still a concern but they are confident that they can fullfill the demand. The have developed a 3 strand colorfast overdyed floss that does not need to be separated for punch needle. The 10 yard colorfast continuous skeins retail at $2, the 29 yard balls are $4 and the 87 yard spools are $5. Compared to a 5 yd skein for $2 you can see how appealing this will be to punch needle customers. When you need to fill in background your work will go so much faster! The color choices are fewer but you can easily substitute what you need to give them a try.

Most of the charts I brought back can be viewed online so I'll mention some of the highlights and you can see what peaks your interest.

Hillside Samplings - Bittersweet Farm, A Child's Commandments, Be You to Others and door hangers from Liberty Hill. I have these models in the store and they are getting great reviews.

Twisted Threads - To Have and to Hold, Welcome, and new little tin easels that will hold your Tiny Tin Frames and Tiny Tin Pins when you are not using them.

The Triology - Happy Dad Day, Happy Mom Day, Flower Power kit, Freedom Rings kit, Secret Flower Bed kit.

A Stitcher's Hand - Honest, Kind and Good, and Beloved. These two designs have the elegance of one color with a lacey border and lots of spot motifs. Very different.

La D Da - La D Da Alphabet, Mockingbird, and The Tie That Binds.

Little House Needleworks - small sized (4x4) samplers in a fruit and proverbs series complete with the Crescent colors in full skeins for only $12. Great for taking in your purse for waiting around at appointments. Sold out this first group and already have replacement inventory and a model of one of the Proverbs...

Hooked on Rugs - lots more punch needle chart packs and ask to see the new Punch RUG model that I did in a night and a half at the hotel. If there is sufficient interest I will schedule a class.

Fabrics - from Wichelt new overdyed Jobelans and Luganas, from Lakeside Maple Sugar and great scrap bags with 13 colors to do lots of small projects. R&R had nothing new.

The Cat's Whiskers - I saw the model for the new design everyone is raving about, The Peacock Stitching Chair. It is indeed beautiful and the stitching is very straight forward. Directions are specific and easy to follow although lengthy. I think the simplicity of the directions is what made them so long.
